Wooden model from the DAHIMO collection “Il Sogno di Leonardo”. Made of 4 mm birch plywood, the kit includes 36 segments (24 sides of hexagons and 12 sides of triangles) to be glued with PVA glue (not included), plus 36 angled joints that hold the figure together through a tight-fit system. Glue is not required for the joints but recommended for extra durability.
Assembly is simple and accessible, requiring care but not advanced skills. Once completed, the model reveals a solid structure that is airy, balanced, and elegant. Perfect for desks, exhibitions, or educational displays.
The geometry is a creative reinterpretation of the tetrahedron, composed of open hexagons
and triangles. This structure is inspired by the mathematical drawings attributed to Leonardo da Vinci for De Divina Proportione by Luca Pacioli. As in other solids from this treatise, Leonardo represented the figure in a “vacuum” style, making the inner form and harmony fully visible.
