Stomachion Archimedes

The Stomachion is an ancient mathematical game attributed to Archimedes: a square divided into fourteen geometric shapes that can be rearranged in countless ways. The DAHIMO version brings this concept to life using high-quality materials and handcrafted precision, making it suitable not only for learning but also for display.

The base is made of sturdy 8 mm poplar plywood, while the pieces are laser-cut with high precision and crafted from 4 mm colored birch. Each set comes already assembled inside a wooden frame. Just lift the pieces and start playing. The goal is to recreate the original square, but also to invent new figures, creatures, or abstract designs, stimulating logic, creativity, and spatial awareness.

Directly inspired by the historical Stomachion, rediscovered in the pages of the Codex Palatinus, this model bridges the gap between ancient knowledge and contemporary design. Ideal for schools, learning centers, bookstores, and homes, it offers an engaging experience for anyone who enjoys thoughtful, interactive objects.

Appreciated in museum bookshops for its educational value and clean design, the DAHIMO Stomachion is more than just a puzzle. It is a small machine for thinking.
